காலத்தின் தேவையினைப் பூர்த்தி செய்து மேல் மாகாணத்தின் கைத்தொழில் அபிவிருத்தி அதிகார சபையினால் புதிய இணையத் தளத்தினை வெளியிட நடவடிக்கை எடுத்ததாவது காலத்தின் முக்கியத்துவம் மிக்க விடயம் ஒன்றினை மேற்கொண்டது எனக் குறிப்பிட முடியும்.. புதிய தொழிநுட்பத்துடன் முன்நோக்கிச் செல்லும் நாடு ஒன்றாக ஒவ்வொரு சந்தர்ப்பத்திலும் , ஒவ்வொரு பிரிவும் அந்தத் தொழிநுட்பத்துடன் முன்நோக்கிச் செல்ல முயற்சிக்க வேண்டும். அவ்வாறு பார்க்கும் இடத்து மேல் மாகாணத்தின் கைத்தொழில் அபிவிருத்தி அதிகார சபையினால் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் சேவைகள் பாராட்டுக்குரியனவாகும். நாளுக்கு நாள் முன்னேற்றத்தினை நோக்கி அடியெடுத்து வைப்பதற்கு முயற்சிக்கும் கைத்தொழில் அபிவிருத்தி அதிகார சபையின் தலைவர் உள்ளிட்ட பணிக்குழுவினருக்கு எனது நன்றியினைத் தெரிவிப்பதுடன் கைத்தொழில் அபிவிருத்தி அதிகார சபையினால் மேற்கொள்ளவிருக்கும் நோக்கங்கள் நிறைவேற வேண்டும் எனப் பிராத்தனை செய்கின்றேன்.

I commend the launch of the Official Web site of the Western Province Industrial Development Authority that comes within the purview of our Ministry and as the Ministry Secretary, I am privileged to issue a message in that regard. The Western Province is home to 29% of the country’s population and a large number of them are involved in the vast industrial complex in the Province. And at the same time, the majority of the country’s unemployed also could be found there.
Attempt by the Western Province Industrial Development Authority to target this segment of the unemployed and initiate the establishment of various industries to help improve their economic status is a great endeavour on the part of the Authority in its quest to help people participate in the industrial process for the national development of Sri Lanka.
The Authority has also offered industrialists in this sphere, assistance to improve and develop knowledge, skills and attitudes.
It is also appreciated that entrepreneurial training is imparted to people to facilitate the building of small commercial industries and their hidden skills are highlighted while market opportunities are explored for them and advice given regarding necessary fund requirements.

மேல் மாகாணத்தின் கைத்தொழில் அபிவிருத்தி அதிகார சபை அதன் நோக்கம் குறிக்கோள் மற்றும் பணியினை நிறைவேற்றிக் கொள்வதற்காக எடுக்கும் நடவடிக்கைளை உள்ளடக்கி தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட அதிகார சபையின் இணையத் தளத்தினை வெளியிடுவது தொடர்பாக எனது மனம் கனிந்த மகிழ்சியினைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்ளுகின்றேன். கைத்தொழில் அபிவிருத்தி அதிகார சபை 1994 ஆம் ஆண்டின் 02 ஆம் இலக்க நியதிச்சட்டதிற்கு இணங்கிய வகையில் மாகாண கைத்தொழிலின் முன்னுரிமை சேவையாளராகும். நாட்டின் தேசிய பொருளாதாரத்திற்கு மேல் மாகணத்தின் கைத்தொழில் துறை அண்ணளவாக 65% ஆன அளவு பங்களிப்பனை வழங்குகின்றது. உற்பத்திப் பொருளாதாரத்தினை நோக்கிச் செல்லும் தனித்த பயணத்தில் எங்களது கைத்தொழில் அதிகார சபைக்கு பாரிய பொறுப்பொன்று காணப்படுகின்றது. இதற்காக கௌரவ அமைச்சர் லலித் வணிகரத்தன அவர்கள் வழங்கும் ஆலோசனை மற்றும் வழிகாட்டலை நான் மிகவும் மதிப்புடன் நினைவு கூருகின்றேன். நாங்கள் பிரயோக ரீதியாகவும், முகாமைத்துவத்தின் எளிதிற்குமாக, உண்மையான கைத்தொழிலாளர்களை இனங்கண்டு அவர்களிடம் சென்று துறை மற்றும் அவர்களின் பிரேரணைகள் மற்றும் குற்றச்சாட்டுக்களை ஏற்று கைத்தொழிலாளர்ளை அறிவுறுத்துவது, வழிகாட்டுவது , சந்தைகளைப் பெற்றுக் கொடுப்பது போன்ற அத்தியாவசிய சேவைகளை வழங்கும் அரச தாபனம் ஒன்றாக புதிய தோற்றத்துடன் 2016 ஆம் ஆண்டில் செயற்பட்டது மகிழ்ச்சியடையக் கூடிய மேம்பாடாகும் அவ்வாறே இத்தாபனம் இலாபத்தினை மட்டும் அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்ட அரச தாபனம் அல்ல.

Western Province Industrial Development Authority has been instituted under the Local Government Ordinance No.02 of 1994, for the purpose of promotion, development, establishment and encouragement of the Province’s industrial base. It is the intention of the Authority to provide micro, small and medium-sized industries with all the necessaryservices, to carry out the tasks of a facility provider and to provide the highest levels of assistance for economic development and all these to be achieved within the recommendations contained in the 5-year complex plan while being guided by the vision of being the pioneer service provider in the industrial sphere.
Among the large number of services provided to the industrialists in the Province by the Authority are financial and trade facilities, entrepreneurship development programmes, contributory pensions scheme that has been offered to the industrialists, business advisories, preparation of project reports and programmes for the empowerment of women in the sphere of economic activity and they occupy a unique position in the activity calendar.
With the blessings of the Governor and the Chief Minister of the Western Province and Provincial Minister of Industries and on the advice of the Secretary to the Provincial Ministry of Industries and the Chairman and the Board of Directors of the Industrial Development Authority, I as Director and my staff at the Authority, are committed robustly and dutifully to achieve the objectives of the Authority and to give the necessary support for the implementation of the government’s economic policy by extending the commitment and support towards the upliftment of small and medium scale industrialists of the Province and contributing towards the economic development of the country though the development and promotion of industry in the Province.
